Tressitu TZ99 is a 9mm semi-automatic pistol manufactured in South Africa by the now-defunct company Tressitu RSA. It is a licensed copy of the Serbian Zastava CZ99, which was originally designed to replace the M57 in the Yugoslav military and police.
The TZ99 was produced for a short period during the 1990s before Tressitu went out of business. Only about 5,000 units were ever manufactured, with approximately 1,500imported into the United States, making it a niche collector's item today. While original TZ99 parts can be difficult to find, it is generally considered 100% parts-compatible with the Zastava CZ99
Key Design Features
Hybrid Design: The TZ99 blends the locking system of the SIG P226 with ambidextrous controls inspired by Walther designs. Ambidextrous Controls: It features a unique combined slide release and decocker lever located on both sides of the frame, along with an ambidextrous magazine release. Construction: It is built with a hard-anodized aluminum-alloy frame and a carbon-steel slide. The barrel is hammer-forged and factory hard-chromed for corrosion resistance. Action: A Double-Action/Single-Action (DA/SA) mechanism with an external hammer.
